Food Distribution Sept. 24th
The Harper County Department on Aging Office will distribute TEFAP/USDA commodity foods on Thursday, September 24th from their location at 201 N Jennings Ave in Anthony, Kansas between 9 a.m. and noon. Food is available on a first come, first served basis. Limited supply available based on applications received and approved. Those picking up are asked to wait in their vehicles, and the food will be delivered to you. No early arrivals.
TEFAP/USDA commodity foods are available for low income families of all ages that reside in Harper County. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. USDA provides 100% American-grown USDA foods and administrative funds to states to operate TEFAP. Applications are available at the Department on Aging office, at the Harper County Courthouse, and the Harper and Attica senior centers. All eligible participants are expected to pick up their food during the scheduled distribution hours. For more information, please contact the HCDOA office at 620-842-5104.
